Voss – the traditional one
After years of research, development, and testing, Lallemand Brewing is thrilled to announce the launch of the newest LalBrew® Voss. Framed within the LALBREW® Premium Series Yeast product line, VOSS KVEIK ALE YEAST has been specifically selected for its performance at a higher temperature and sensory characteristics. VOSS KVEIK ALE YEAST was isolated by Sigmund Gjernes in the 1980s, who has maintained it to this day, sharing it with the wider brewing community.
LALBREW® VOSS KVEIK ALE YEAST supports a wide range of fermentation temperatures between 25-40°C(77-104°F) with a very high optimal range of 35-40°C (95-104°F). Very fast fermentations are achieved within the optimal temperature range with full attenuation typically achieved within 2-3 days. The flavor profile is consistent across the entire temperature range: neutral with subtle fruity notes of orange and citrus. Flocculation is very high producing clear beers without filtration or use of process aids.
LALBREW® VOSS KVEIK ALE YEAST is recommended at a pitch rate of 50-100g per hL of wort (It is sufficient to achieve a minimum of 2.5-5 million viable cells/mL). For more information about LalBrew® Voss Kveik Ale Yeast, view the product page or download the technical datasheet.
